Predeal Resort

Predeal is the northern most resort on the Prahova Valley, located 25 km from Brasov, being the city at the highest altitude in Romania (1,030-1,110 m).

Coordinates of Predeal are 45’30 “north latitude and 25’26” eastern latitude. The city is bordered by several cities, such as: in the South with the city of Azuga, in the South-west with the town Buşteni, in the North-west with the town of Rasnov and in the north with the city of Braşov.

Predeal is located on the Prahova Valley, near the Meridional Carpathian Pass, at an altitude of 1,060 m, in a pass between Muntenia and Transylvania.

The village has delineation of the Prahova rivers to the south and Timiş to the north. The city is delimited by 3 massifs: Postavaru, Piatra Mare and Bucegi. In the past, Predeal was the border town with the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the border guard building still exists today.

The city is crossed by two national roads, namely DN1 and DN73A. Also, within the radius of the locality there are the routes of two communal roads, respectively DC15 (Libertăţii Boulevard) and DC15A (Trei Brazi Street).


Predeal has 11 alpine ski slopes and one ski slope, being recommended to lovers of this sport.
